The Miami Conservancy District (MCD) in southwest Ohio has received a Special Recognition Award from the National Ground Water Assn. (NGWA).  The MCD monitors, analyzes and reports on conditions of the region’s water resources in the Great Miami River Watershed. The district’s partner organizations — which include the U.S. Geological Survey, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the National Weather Service — operate and maintain an extensive hydrologic monitoring system, which tracks annual trends in precipitation, runoff and groundwater levels.
